Chelda is an Associate Professor at the University of St. Thomas and a Black feminist committed to intersectional justice. Her work focuses on the pedagogy of humanization, faculty cultural competencies, and the educational experiences of historically marginalized communities. Chelda previously served as Associate Professor at Georgia Southern University, where she co-founded and directed the MAT in Cultures and Communities. Chelda teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in critical pedagogy and equity in education and consults nationally on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Chelda is also a certified yoga teacher, life sampler, and fluent speaker of Haitian Creole who has traveled to over 35 countries.
